New Nottingham Forest signing Yohan Benalouane was one of a few bright spots in Martin O’Neill’s first game in charge at Nottingham Forest.

Fans praised the former Leicester City defender despite Forest’s defeat at the City Ground to Bristol City.

Benalouane sent a message out on Twitter expressing his personal satisfaction at getting started.

This is a fresh start for Benalouane after his transfer to Leicester turned into a disaster.

The Tunisian was signed by Claudio Ranieri and never really given a chance with a regular run of games to show what he can do.

The 31-year-old had made only five appearances for Leicester this season, one in the league, and so it may take him a bit of time to showcase his best form.

His performance at the weekend was an encouraging start.
