Liam Rosenior is beginning to turn a few heads among those who had their doubts about his appointment as Chelsea manager.

That’s now five wins from six under Rosenior, and they’ve still not played close to what they’re capable of. That should only add confidence in the long run.

Chelsea still have work to do though, with two tough London derbies up next. An in-form West Ham visit Stamford Bridge before they take on Arsenal again in the Carabao Cup.

Fans are still waiting for a strong home performance at Stamford Bridge, but this weekend might be the chance to deliver one.

Chelsea have been linked with several midfielders lately, and Yaya Toure would have fit the bill perfectly during his playing days.

Toure faced off against Rosenior twice during his spell at Manchester City, coming out on top both times. He’s now speaking highly of the new Chelsea manager after his strong start to life at Stamford Bridge, sharing his thoughts on social media.

“I am very happy with him, very happy for his nomination to be the head coach of Chelsea. And I’m not surprised by his success; he’s such a good speaker, right?”

“As a player, for example, I put myself as a player. You’re gonna love to listen and try to listen right because he’s such a good speaker; he knows how to speak to people.”

“But Liam, what a person, right? What a person. And I think and I believe he’s gonna be a great coach.”

Liam Rosenior’s next moves at Chelsea

One thing that has started to stand out in Liam Rosenior’s time at Chelsea is the team’s defensive organisation, which has looked vulnerable more than once.

They’re still searching for a leader in the mould of Thiago Silva—someone who can take control and set the tone from the back.

Jeremy Jacquet could add some talent to their backline if he signs, but he won’t solve the experience gap. Chelsea are still very much a young squad in need of a stronger presence at the back.
