Wyndham Clark has one major championship to his name, and is currently 17 short of matching Jack Nicklaus’ record.
Nicklaus’ record of 18 major championship wins is likely never to be matched, let alone surpassed.
However, Clark is an extremely confident and ambitious person, and he undoubtedly believes he has the game to win many more of the four biggest golf tournaments before he’s finished playing.
Wyndham Clark finally returned to the PGA Tour winners’ circle two weeks ago, after he shot a final-round 60 to win the CJ CUP Byron Nelson by three strokes.

Only another 69 to go then before he matches Jack Nicklaus‘ tally of 73 PGA Tour wins!
Clark’s CJ CUP win came just two months after he split with his long-term caddie, and he seems to be incredibly confident with where his game is at right now.
Wyndham Clark says if he’d take Jack Nicklaus’ 19 major runner-ups
When speaking to reporters at Muirfield Village on Tuesday this week, Clark was asked about Nicklaus’ incredible record of 19 runner-up finishes in the majors.
Specifically, he was asked whether he would take that record if it were offered to him.
“I mean, it would be frustrating,“ he admitted.

“But I would take finishing second in 19 majors, it’s a pretty amazing feat.
“Jack and Tiger are the greatest of all time, and to be in contention that many times to win a major in itself is amazing.
“So, yeah, I mean, I think the most impressive thing in Jack’s career is the fact that he was always in contention. That’s hard to do.
“I mean, Tiger did it, Scottie is now doing it, and that’s what I think the greats do.“
Wyndham Clark has huge potential to become a consistent winner
I guess the question is: would you rather 19 runner-up finishes in the majors and zero wins, or one major win and no runner-up finishes?
Surely every single golfer on the planet would choose the latter.
Wyndham Clark will obviously not come close to matching what Jack Nicklaus achieved in the game.
However, if he manages to maintain his recent form over the next decade or so, it will be no surprise to see him end his career as a multiple major champion.
He certainly has all of the attributes required to consistently be one of the best players in the world.
Even his putting, which he has historically struggled with, looks rock solid right now. The future is unquestionably bright for Wyndham Clark, after what was a really difficult season for him last year.
