WWE star Cody Rhodes recalls his awkward first meeting with ‘robot’ Tom Brady

There is a chance that we could see NFL icon Tom Brady become more involved with WWE in the future.

During the 2026 World Cup final, Brady was beefing with wrestler Logan Paul, and there are rumours that the former football player could be in talks with WWE regarding some sort of appearance.

Tom was, along with Paul, among the big names who appeared at Fanatics Fest earlier this month, during which time he was a guest on Cody Rhodes’ podcast.

Now, the WWE superstar has recalled his first-ever meeting with Brady.

Cody Rhodes thought Tom Brady was a ‘robot’ after first meeting

Speaking on The Tonight Show, Rhodes spoke about how well his recent podcast with Brady went, praising him highly.

However, he also mentioned that he was ‘very worried’ about the podcast because the first time he met Tom, Cody thought he was a ‘robot’.

He said: “Tom Brady was so good to talk to me on the podcast.”

Fallon replied: “He’s just great. Right?”

Rhodes continued: “He was not just great. He was, you wanted to run through a brick wall with these answers, and you were learning something. And you could see the crowd, young, old wrestling fans, football fans. Michael Rubin puts together such a great event with Fanatics Fest. He was one of, if not the best guest we ever had on the podcast.

“But I was very worried because the first time I met Tom Brady was backstage somewhere else, and I thought, I thought he was not real. Like, I thought he was a robot.

“I was excited; he’s my favourite, I’ve got a Brady-signed helmet, it’s all real, he’s very inspiring to me, so I was excited to meet him.

“I said, ‘Hey Tom, I’m Cody, I’ll be out there tonight on stage too’. And he said just the most generic, I think it was ‘Well, stay cool out there, it’s a hot one’.”
