The 2026 World Cup saw Erling Haaland become something of a celebrity in the United States of America.
While competing for Norway, fans were drawn to the Manchester City player, and there were plenty of memes made about the soccer star.
Despite the World Cup being over, Haaland is still a talking point in the US, and he has now been discussed by WWE superstar Cody Rhodes.

Rhodes recently appeared on The Tonight Show and was asked whether a number of celebrities would make good wrestlers.
When it came to Haaland, Cody pitched that because of the soccer player’s long blonde hair, he could pretend to be Rhodes’ cousin in WWE.
He said: “Oh, I mean a supreme athlete. And with the hair, we could do a cousin thing because in wrestling, we’re all related.
“So he could be my cuz.”
Rhodes is not the first WWE superstar to discuss Haaland potentially competing in the squared circle at some point.
Speaking on the OneFootball YouTube channel last week, Finn Balor said the striker would fit in with WWE well, and also mentioned Argentina defender Cristian Romero could be a heel.
He said: “Yeah, I think Haaland would definitely fit into the WWE ring pretty well, and yeah, you know we were talking about him earlier, but you know, Cristian Romero would definitely be one of the bad, one of the heels, as we call them. I mean, that’s WrestleMania.”
WWE has never been shy about bringing celebrities into their business, as we saw at the World Cup with Tom Brady and Logan Paul beefing ahead of a potential appearance from the NFL legend.
Whether Haaland would be open to doing something similar in the future remains to be seen. But as long as he is still playing soccer, it’s hard to imagine him being allowed to have an actual match.
