The TKO brand has been at the centre of a number of fan-led controversies since they got involved with WWE.
The over-arching ownership company – who also own UFC – have pumped money and commercial aspects into the company but at times, there’s been suggestions that TKO higher-ups are influencing things in the ring and on TV.
As we know, it is Triple H who is responsible for the big calls but there is no doubting certain decisions have been outside of his usual ways of working.
Now, with former WWE champion Sheamus departing the company this past week, it’s being reported that TKO and WWE officials have once again clashed.
WWE and TKO chiefs clash over release of Sheamus
The departure of Sheamus came as a surprise to many. One of the most reliable and experienced names on the WWE roster, his near 20 year run has come to an abrupt end.
Nevertheless, it’s not without controversy.
According to Fightful Select, there has once again been clashes at company level.
It’s stated that a ‘high level WWE official’ went ‘to bat’ for Sheamus in a meeting with TKO board members. It’s claimed that a pitch was made to TKO about the amount Sheamus offers the company, as well as the commercial benefit.

In the end, it mattered little, with Sheamus himself confirming his release this week.
Nevertheless, it’s once again shown that there are disagreements between TKO and WWE officials.
Quite how this can continue in the future, remains to be seen. But there does seem to be a feeling that TKO are needlessly getting involved and overall, negatively impacting the fan experience and product in general.
With ticket prices also a constant complaint from fans since TKO arrived, they are in a position where they’re risking undoing the good work of the last five to ten years.
