Shaun Wright-Phillips has claimed that it would be ‘wrong and disrespectful’ to claim that Arsenal aren’t currently in the Premier League title race.
The former Chelsea winger thinks Mikel Arteta’s side will still have some questions to answer as the season progresses, but at this moment in time, they are showing their worth.
Even though Arsenal aren’t in action during this current round of midweek fixtures, they will remain at the top of the Premier League table, regardless of results.

They have a four points gap, which can only be closed to one point, with Manchester City also not in action because they were meant to play the Gunners, who have a Europa League fixture to deal with on Thursday.
Nonetheless, the mood around north London hasn’t been so good and, as the wins are being stacked up, then the more fans will only believe more.
Wright-Phillips has been there winning the title with Chelsea, as he shared his thoughts on whether Arsenal are in the title race, as he told Premier League Productions.
“I think if you go off this season, then I think it will be wrong and disrespectful to say they aren’t,” said Wright-Phillips.
“They have the best record in the Premier League, so for me, they can have a seat at that table.
“But there will be a time when they have to answer a few more questions. Like if they lose two games in a row. How are they going to bounce back from that? They lost one against Man United and bounced back superbly.
“What happens if you get a run of bad results, which most of the top teams, like Man City and Liverpool, they didn’t have a run of bad results. They would have one bad result, then kick on for another 10-12 games, which blew all the rest of the teams out of the water.
“If they can get to that level, then they can be there forever.”

ARTETA BACKING
It has been a drama-filled time for Arteta in the Arsenal dugout and there were many occasions where he could have been shown the door.
Those in the Emirates boardroom ignored the outside noise, and instead, backed their man time and time again.
Perhaps it is a message to those who are looking to sack their manager about what patience, and even more patience, can do.
It has been a long time since Arsenal fans have felt so much belief about their team and they are right to be in such a mood.
