Some Arsenal fans on social media have been reacting after it was reported that the club are in advanced negotiations about a loan move for Juventus midfielder Arthur Melo.

What’s the story with Arthur?

It’s been reported for quite some time that the Gunners are interested in the Brazilian midfielder, and now, it sounds as though the London club are stepping up their attempts to bring him to the club.

Goal have reported that the London club are in talks with Juventus about Arthur, while Football London have also backed up those claims.

Interestingly, Fabrizio Romano sees things rather differently, claiming that Juventus’ injury issues are causing a bit of hesitation around whether or not Arthur should go out on loan.

Short-term solution

Arthur would be a fantastic short-term solution in the midfield for Arsenal.

This is a very talented footballer. He’s played for both Barcelona and Juventus, tasting success at both clubs.

There’s a reason Juve paid £72m for the Brazilian, and while things haven’t quite gone to plan for him in Turin, he’s still a technically proficient international footballer.

Arsenal certainly need a midfielder through the door. After all, they’re very short in the centre of the park right now, and Arthur could be the perfect signing on loan right now.
