It’s easy to forget that Hector Bellerin is still on Arsenal’s books after joining Real Betis on loan in the summer, yet the defender sent his club a stark reminder of his qualities after keeping a clean sheet against Barcelona.
The 26-year-old right-back kept a clean sheet and completed the full 90 as Betis secured an incredible 1-0 win against the UEFA Champions League giants, inflicting Xavi Hernandez with his first defeat as Barcelona manager.
The result against Barcelona and Bellerin’s performance took Betis to third in La Liga. The Seville-based club are having an outstanding season under former Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini.
