Well, Rangers have salvaged a point this afternoon.

The Gers were six minutes away from losing 1-0 away to St Mirren, but a James Tavernier penalty on 84 minutes rescued a point for Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side.

It was another difficult afternoon for Rangers hitman Alfredo Morelos – and he made no attempt to hide his frustrations.

Straight from the restart, Morelos, a £1 million signing in 2017 [The Times], received a yellow card for smashing straight into Ethan Erhahon.

Here’s how Tam McManus reacted to that incident on Twitter:

The Colombia international has only managed three goals in 18 appearances across all competitions this season [Transfermarkt] which, for someone of his talents, is a horrendous return.

The 26-year-old has spent much of his Rangers career stealing headlines for the wrong reasons, such as indiscipline, but his heavy goalscoring compensated for it.

This time around, however, he’s doing too much of one and not enough of the other.

Rangers are six points behind reigning Scottish Premiership champions Celtic, who can move nine points clear with a victory at home to Ross County today.
