Jamie Carragher was left stunned by Arsenal transfer target Youri Tielemans and his stunning half-volley during Leicester City’s 2-0 win over Everton on Saturday.
In the first half, after the ball was pin-balling inside Everton’s area, Tielemans picked up the loose ball on the edge of the box by controlling it with his thigh before unleashing a wicked shot into the top corner.
It was a moment of pure beauty from the 25-year-old and Carragher thinks that effort is already ‘Goal of the Month’, as he told Sky Sports Premier League whilst on commentary duty.

Tielemans is out-of-contract next summer and the likes of Arsenal are hunting for the £40 million star’s signature, it’s pretty obvious why given his outrageous technical talent.
Given that the Belgium midfielder hasn’t signed a new deal, it’s clear that he is heading out of the door and it’s just a case of, will someone push the boat out for him in January in order to get ahead of the teams chasing his signature? Or will the likes of Arsenal be patient and confident that they can secure his talents for nothing next summer?
Well, one thing is for sure, Carragher very much enjoyed Tielemans’ long-range strike that played a huge part in the Foxes securing all three points yesterday.
“Wow, he scored a special goal at Wolves,” said Carragher. “I think that might be better. We spoke about the quality he has before the game, but that pass from Dewsbury-Hall completely changes this attack.
“Seamus Coleman thought it was going to go to feet and gets done in-behind – sometimes you need something like THAT (Tielemans’ goal). I said this game lacked quality, but not anymore. That’s your Goal of the Month.
“What a goal, the quality and the technique. How cool he was – then scores an absolute wonder goal.”

WILL ARSENAL PUSH FOR TIELEMANS IN JANUARY?
During the previous winter transfer window, Arsenal opted against bringing in new faces; in truth, it cost them in their race to secure Champions League football.
Whilst Mikel Arteta will be happy with his current starting XI, he needs depth in quality in order to freshen the squad, take them up a few levels and get them through what will be a tricky second-half of the season.
Someone like Tielemans could be that player, so rather than wait until he’s a free transfer, they should do all they can to push for him in January.
