The West Ham United man would surely be a useful addition to the Newcastle United squad.
Magpies boss Rafa Benitez will surely be looking to bolster his options this month, with his side still looking nervously over their shoulders at the relegation zone.
Newcastle currently sit in 13th spot in the table, just two points clear of the drop zone, and a couple of quality additions will be necessary for them, if they are to enjoy a successful campaign.
One particular department where Rafa needs to strengthen is his attacking options, with their tally of just 20 goals scored being the fifth worst in the division so far this term.
With this in mind, the Spaniard should consider a move for Hammers forward Andre Ayew, with the Ghanaian facing an uncertain future in east London.
The 28-year-old joined West Ham from Swansea City in the summer of 2016, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £20.5 million, but has failed to establish himself as a first-team regular at the club, scoring just 12 goals in 46 outings in all competitions.
Ayew still has a lot to offer at the very highest level, though, and possesses the kind of ability that would most definitely offer the Toon something extra in the final third.
The lively forward possesses pace in abundance, and the direct manner in which he operates would add a certain level of potency to the Magpies’ attacking play.
He can operate anywhere along the front-line – something that would provide Benitez with more variety to his tactical setup, and could prove to be extremely useful during the long and arduous campaign ahead.
With the January transfer window now open for business, this could be one for Newcastle and West Ham fans to keep a close eye on, and if Rafa does manage to bring Ayew to St James’ Park, it could turn out to be a signing of real significance for the Toon.
