Artem Dovbyk’s agent admits the Ukraine international ‘would like to play in England’ amid interest from Premier League outfit Nottingham Forest in the Dnipro striker, speaking to FanDay.
Following a summer of such intense speculation, Dovbyk could perhaps have been forgiven for a slow start to the current campaign.
There is no indication, however, that all those rumours have taken his eye of the ball (quite literally, in this case), with the Dnipro talisman scoring 16 goals in 22 games in all competitions.

The downside, as far as his current employers are concerned, is that Dovbyk’s outstanding form only increases the chance of a big-money move to one of Europe’s major leagues. Nottingham Forest held talks over the summer, per SportArena, and remain in the market for a physical, free-scoring number nine.
Only Wolves have scored fewer goals than Steve Cooper’s side so far in 2022/23, after all.
But, as agent Alexey Lundovsky points out, Dovbyk’s price-tag has risen quite considerably since the summer months.
Could Nottingham Forest sign Ukraine international Artem Dovbyk in January?
“You saw that (bids of) seven or eight million euros were mentioned. Now Dnipro will not even look at such an amount,” Lundovsky says.
“Now, when he is again the Ukrainian Premier League’s top scorer and reinforced this with his performances in European competition, his price will clearly be higher than in summer.
“In the strongest leagues in Eastern Europe, there are no homegrown forwards of his age who have scored so consistently over the past two years. Dovbyk scored 40 goals during this time.
“I can assure you that there is interest from England, Italy, France, Turkey, and Belgium. Artem himself would like to play in England or Italy. And clubs in these leagues can pay the amount required for his transfer.”
Dovbyk was also reportedly a target for Burnley over the summer. The 25-year-old has presumably moved beyond the Clarets’ financial reach since then, however.
“I am glad that interest in Dovbyk is consistently high. (The interest) is growing after a strong half-season,” his agent adds. “The interest has only increased.”
Nottingham Forest are reportedly keeping tabs on Bari’s Morocco international Walid Cheddira too (Gianluca diMarzio). Cheddira is currently the top scorer in Italy’s Serie B.
