Former Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has revealed that he regretted leaving the club in 2018.

Speaking in an interview with the Athletic, the former Gunners hero admitted that he made a mistake leaving his boyhood club three years ago. Wilshere’s contract expired with Arsenal in 2018.

After departing north London, Wilshere made the move east to West Ham. However, the midfielder was unable to remain fit or capture his best form for Arsenal. The 29-year-old is now a free agent.

Indeed, it is a sad tale given how talented Wilshere was in the early years of his career. The midfielder was regarded as one of the finest midfielders in England and a player who could have captained Arsenal.

However, injuries played their wicked hand in the career of Wilshere. The midfielder missed literal years of football due to knocks and problems.

And on social media, some Arsenal fans want the club to re-sign Wilshere with the former England international admitting that he is unable to find a club this summer.
