Former Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho is under consideration to take over at Everton following the sacking of Rafa Benitez earlier in the week.
According to Sky Sports News, the Portuguese coach is on the Toffees’ shortlist of managers who could replace the former Everton boss this season. However, Mourinho is unlikely to take the position.
As per the report, the AS Roma manager is happy in Italy as the Serie A side aim to finish in the top-four, with Mourinho doing a solid job since arriving in the summer.
With Mourinho leaving Tottenham on poor terms, a return to the Premier League seems almost too soon for the former Manchester United boss.
Whilst the manager has ruled himself out of the race, there is always a chance Mourinho could take the Everton job if the likes of Wayne Rooney and Frank Lampard turn down the position.
With Everton failing with recent managerial appointments, the arrival of Mourinho could be another project doomed to fail for the Merseyside club. And Tottenham fans seem to agree that their former coach would be a poor hire.
