Erling Haaland’s form is terrifying if you’re an Arsenal supporter – and exciting if you’re a Tottenham Hotspur fan.

At least, that’s the view of former Spurs hitman Garth Crooks.

On Wednesday, Haaland scored twice as Manchester City beat Leeds United to move within five points of Arsenal at the top of the Premier League table.

In doing so, the Norway international has already reached the 20-goal barrier – and he’s only had 14 Premier League appearances thus far.

And the BBC pundit has predicted that he could quite possibly score another 20 to cap a remarkable debut season, claiming this is the ‘worst possible news’ for Arsenal but something to hope for from a Tottenham perspective.

He said to BBC Sport: “It’s quite conceivable he could score as many as 40 goals this season, which is the worst possible news for Arsenal and music to the ears if you’re a Tottenham fan.”

Well, Manchester City will still be favourites but the contrast to their and the Gunners’ striker situations is incredible.

Pep Guardiola has possibly the world’s greatest number nine at his disposal and Mikel Arteta has Eddie Nketiah.

Yes, Nketiah scored an excellent goal against West Ham in midweek, but can he fill the void left by Gabriel Jesus?

The former City marksman is out until March with a knee injury and this is where the Premier League title could be won, the difference in both teams’ number nines.
