Gary Lineker has praised Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold on Twitter while watching him in action against West Ham United.

The former Tottenham Hotspur striker has said that Liverpool right-back Alexander-Arnold is world class.

The BBC Match of the Day pundit made the tweet after watching the England international right-back score for the Reds in the 41st minute against the Hammers at London Stadium this evening.

Former Crystal Palace forward Clinton Morrison was also impressed by the defender today.

Morrison told BBC Sport in the first half: “Liverpool are stepping on the gas, they’re piling pressure on.

“It’s all down the right-hand side, Trent Alexander-Arnold has been magnificent, he’s been playing like a right winger.

How did Trent Alexander-Arnold play?

Liverpool suffered a 3-2 defeat to West Ham at London Stadium this evening.

The Hammers were the better team in the Premier League game and deservedly picked up all three points from the encounter.

Alisson was at fault for all of the three goals that the Hammers scored.

The Liverpool attackers were guilty of missing chances as well, especially Sadio Mane.

One Liverpool player who stood out was Alexander-Arnold.

The 23-year-old scored one goal for Liverpool and provided the assist for another.

The free kick from the England international for his goal was superb.

There were one or two moments when the right-back could have done better defensively, but that happens with everyone.
