Murillo is set to undergo a medical at Nottingham Forest after Corinthians confirmed an ‘official offer’ from the Premier League outfit for their much-coveted centre-half.
The pull of the Premier League is real. How else can you explain Murillo opting for a Nottingham Forest side who spent much of last season battling against the drop over a Napoli team who stormed to the Scudetto while consolidating their return to the Champions League stage along the way?
According to Globo Esporte, Napoli showed an interest in Murillo. But the bright lights of English football attracted the talented centre-half like a moth to a flame.

Murillo will instead undergo a medical at Nottingham Forest after travelling to England on Monday.
Nottingham Forest win race for Murillo
“The club received an official offer from Nottingham Forest. We responded at the end of the day, and the clubs are negotiating,” says Alessandro, Corinthians’ sporting director (GE).
Alessandro was reluctant to confirm exactly how much Nottingham Forest are offering. Globo Esporte, however, believe that the two-time European champions could end up paying around £14 million if certain add-ons are met.
This comes after Nottingham Forest failed with an initial offer in mid-August.
In addition to Napoli, there was also interest from Aston Villa, Manchester City and Fiorentina. Wolverhampton Wanderers submitted a bid of their own, albeit one which also fell short of Corinthians’ asking price. Murillo is not yet a Nottingham Forest player, but a late hi-jack from Molineux feels unlikely with Financial Fair Play concerns restricting Wolves’ ability to stump up a considerable fee for a 21-year-old centre-half.

According to the Daily Mail, Murillo should undergo medical tests at the City Ground as early as today. Forest are also keen on Arsenal’s Nuno Tavares, Leicester City’s Wilfried Ndidi and could bring in Nicolas Dominguez from Bologna as part of a swap deal with the out-of-favour Remo Freuler.
