The Wolverhampton Wanderers man is a huge admirer of the Barcelona ace.

Wolves ace Romain Saiss sat down for an exclusive interview with the Guardian, and named Barcelona ace Sergio Busquets as the player who he models his own game on, labelling the Spaniard as his inspiration.

The 27-year-old could very well go head-to-head with the 29-year-old star at the World Cup in Russia, after Morocco were drawn in the same group as Spain.

Busquets has won all there is to win in the game with Barcelona and Spain, including six La Liga titles, three Champions League winner’s medals, the European Championships and the World Cup.

Saiss has obviously not hit the heights of his idol, but he has enjoyed a successful campaign with Wolves nevertheless, appearing in all but one of his side’s Championship games so far this season.

The Black Country outfit currently sit comfortably at the top of the table, four points clear of second placed Cardiff City, and fans and pundits alike are tipping them to win the league.

The Moroccan international spoke exclusively to the Guardian, and explained why he is such a big fan of Busquets:

“He’s always been an inspiration for me. Busquets is very important to his team even though you don’t always notice him because of the extraordinary things done by Messi, Suárez and Iniesta. But I’ve always enjoyed watching him: his positioning, the simplicity of his play. I really hope I play against him at the World Cup. Trying to emulate him has helped me take all the steps I had to get through to be here now.”

Next up for Wolves and Saiss is a trip to Hillsborough to take on Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship tomorrow night, and a win would take them seven points clear at the top of the table.
