Wolves want Michael Beale and one report claims that the Queens Park Rangers boss has now agreed terms with the club.

Bruno Lage lost his job earlier this month having got off to a terrible start to the new Premier League season.

A 2-0 defeat to West Ham made it one win in eight games to start the campaign.

More than two weeks on, Wolves still haven’t appointed a replacement having again tried to land Julen Lopetegui, only for him to say no.

Wolves want Michael Beale

Other names have been mentioned, including Bo Svensson and Peter Bosz, but Wolves have chosen to go English this time.

90Min claim that QPR boss Michael Beale has now agreed to become the new Wolves boss.

It’s suggested that terms are now in place and a deal is expected to go through soon.

Beale is taking charge of QPR’s game against Cardiff City tonight but this may be his final game in the Loftus Road dugout.

Beale has a release clause in his deal and QPR will want the full amount in order for Beale to make his move.

The 42-year-old had been a coach at Liverpool, Chelsea and even Sao Paulo but really rose to prominence with Rangers.

Beale served as Steven Gerrard’s assistant at Ibrox, winning the Scottish Premiership title in 2021 before leaving for Aston Villa together.

QPR pounced for Beale last summer though, making him their new manager following the departure of Mark Warburton.

Beale has already impressed with seven wins and four draws in 15 games as QPR boss, tempting Wolves into a deal.

It now looks like Gerrard and Beale will end up locking horns, adding another layer of intrigue to the Wolves v Aston Villa derbies.

Former Celtic and Aston Villa man Stiliyan Petrov has previously praised Beale as an ‘incredible coach’ and Wolves appear to have landed one of the most exciting English coaches.

UPDATE: The Telegraph now claim that Beale has actually rejected a move to Wolves and will stay at QPR.

It may well be that these initial reports jumped the gun and Beale hadn’t quite made his mind up.

Or, Beale had agreed rough terms with Wolves but took some time to think about it overnight and decided he wants to stay at QPR.

That’s an enormous boost for the R’s.

Beale has made a huge impact since becoming QPR boss over the summer and took the club to top of the Championship on Wednesday night.

Beale’s decision to stay will leave R’s fans truly believing that something special can happen this season.

As for Wolves, this is just another big blow.

First it was Lopetegui and now Beale who have decided not to take the Wolves job.

Their reasons were different but it all just adds to a feeling of chaos at Molineux as their search for a new boss approaches three weeks.
