If Bruno Lage is keen to provide some competition for Raul Jimenez and Fabio Silva at Wolves, an interesting opportunity is there for the taking.
What’s the story?
Well, according to a recent report from UOL, Wolves are interested in signing Diego Costa, formerly of Chelsea.
The 32-year-old saw his Atlético Madrid contract terminated in January, and despite talk of a move to Palmeiras, he is still a free agent.
Now, it’s evident that Costa is nearing the end of his prime years, if he hasn’t already reached them.
However, he is still a fantastic forward – there’s a reason Atlético Madrid spent £57 million to re-sign him from Chelsea.
Definitely worth a punt

The striker situation at Molineux is a delicate one.
Jimenez has now recovered from his head injury, while Silva has a full campaign in England under his belt.
You wouldn’t want to bring someone in who’ll disrupt their playing time.
However, going into a season with just two strikers is a bit risky.
If one gets a long-term injury – like Jimenez did – it would be a nightmare.

So, in that respect, we believe Wolves should definitely take a punt on Costa, who Gary Lineker once called a ‘great goalscorer’.
The Spaniard has 89 Premier League appearances under his belt – scoring 52 goals – so he shouldn’t need much time to settle in England.
On a one-year contract, Wolves would be wise to bring Costa back to England.
