Wolverhampton Wanderers fans must be feeling more optimistic about their club’s chances of promotion after their fine run of form.
During an interview with the Express & Star, Wolves boss Paul Lambert admitted his surprise at how quickly his side have managed to turn their season around, but insisted that the credit must go to the supporters and the players, rather than himself.

The Black County outfit’s improvement as a team was highlighted by their tremendous performance against Liverpool at Anfield in the fourth round of the FA Cup, as they ran out convincing winners against their Premier League counterparts.
And Lambert, who has only been in charge at Wolves for three months, explained to the Express & Star how it is not just him who deserves credit for the manner in which his side have performed of late:

“It comes through the players and the supporters. It’s not me being modest, I just think the game is about players and supporters. If you get them together, and results, and things like Liverpool, it brings everything together and the feeling becomes strong. Am I surprised how quick it’s turned? Probably, yes. And not just what you see on the pitch but behind the scenes as well. From the moment I walked in the door I felt there was something special here.”
