Former Ibrox forward Mark Hateley has said on the Ten10 Podcast that Leeds United will make a move for Rangers winger Ryan Kent in the summer of 2021.

Leeds were strongly linked with Rangers winger Kent last summer, and ex-Gers forward Hateley, who now works as a pundit, believes that Marcelo Bielsa’s side will move for the former Liverpool man again.

The Times reported in August 2020 that the Whites were interested in signing Kent from Rangers in the summer of 2020 and made a bid of £10 million, which was turned down.

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard himself said that the West Yorkshire outfit had made a bid for the 24-year-old, as quoted on talkSPORT in August 2020.

Hateley said on the Ten10 Podcast, as transcribed by InsideFutbol: “I would say between £18 million and £25 million, that’s how I see him right now.

“But the question is how well Leeds have done this season, they will be knocking again in the summer without a shadow of doubt, especially with those numbers [25 direct goal contributions].”

Leeds United back in for Ryan Kent?

Kent has been very good for Rangers this season, and played his role in the club winning the Scottish Premiership title and reaching the Europa League Round of 16.

According to WhoScored, the winger has made 32 starts and one substitute appearance in the Scottish Premiership for the Gers so far this season, scoring eight goals and providing seven assists in the process.

The former Liverpool winger also made eight starts and two substitute appearances in the Europa League for Gerrard’s side this campaign, scoring two goals and providing two assists in the process, according to WhoScored.

While Leeds reportedly wanted Kent last summer, they went on to sign Raphinha, who has been superb in the Premier League.

The Whites could also make Jack Harrison’s loan deal from Manchester City permanent and may not need to sign Kent
