Don Hutchison thinks Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool will be in with a chance to sign Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane next summer when he becomes a free agent.

The former Liverpool midfielder passionately urged the 29-year-old to stay put at Tottenham this summer because it ‘makes no sense’ to leave now, with Bayern Munich keen on his goalscoring talents.

But Hutchison thinks, in 12 months, Harry Kane ‘brings them all into play’ and he can sign for Real Madrid, Manchester City and even Liverpool, as he told ESPN.

Whilst the Reds are big enough to sign and attract a player of Kane’s talents. They haven’t been mentioned as much to sign the Englishman, with Real Madrid, Manchester United and Bayern Munich taking that limelight.

And, of course, there was all that noise with Manchester City a couple of years ago.

Nonetheless, with Spurs and Kane in a situation where they have to make a big call about his future this summer, Hutchison had one simple message for the player.

“I think he stays at Tottenham one more year, then goes on a free,” said Hutchison. “Then he brings them all into play.

“Why would you want to leave now? Go and win everything in a year.

“This time in one season’s time. You bring Real Madrid, you bring Liverpool and Man City (in the race to sign Kane)

“Tottenham or his (Kane’s camp) are playing the game of let’s keep Bayern on the loop. If we have to sell him, then make sure there is another team in the race – I just don’t think it makes any sense as a player to move at this present time.”

Harry Kane at Liverpool

Now, this would be devastating, and the combination of Kane working with Jurgen Klopp would help the player win all those trophies he has dreamt about.

Even though Klopp’s fellow countryman, Jurgen Klinsmann previously told talkSPORT that he thinks the ‘exceptional’ Kane can win a trophy at Hotspur Way.

In truth, it has been obvious for a while that it isn’t going to happen and the quicker he leaves, the better. Whilst joining Liverpool won’t be on the top of many people’s lips, moving to Merseyside would be incredible for both the player and the Reds themselves.
