Nottingham Forest are reportedly plotting another move for Massimo Luongo in January – and they should consider his QPR team-mate Bidwell again too.

Massimo Luongo could hardly have been afforded higher praise by his Queens Park Rangers manager Ian Holloway after a 2-2 draw with Millwall last month.
“The kid’s getting better and better. If there’s a better midfielder in the league at the moment then I’d like to see him,” Holloway said in quotes reported by Fox Sports after the Australian playmaker notched his first goal of 2017/18.
Best in the league? No wonder, then, that Luongo is still on Nottingham Forest’s radar, per The Mirror (18th October, page 49). With Chris Cohen again struggling with injuries and David Vaughan not getting any younger, Luongo’s excellent passing range and vision should make him an excellent fit for a Mark Warburton side committed to easy-on-the-eye football.

The question, however, is whether Luongo will be the only QPR star that Forest attempt to lure to the City Ground in January.
The Times reported in the summer that Forest wanted to do a double deal for both Luongo and his team-mate Jake Bidwell, the highly-rated left-back who has emerged as one of the Championship’s finest defenders.

And while Armand Traore has been in superb form at Forest this season, Bidwell would add further quality to a position in which Warburton is not exactly blessed with countless options.
QPR will clearly not want to allow two of their most important players to leave for a Championship rival midway through the season but there’s no harm in Forest making an enquiry.
