Kalvin Phillips completed a move to Manchester City from Leeds United on Monday, penning a six-year deal at The Etihad and Jack Harrison has responded to the news on Instagram – a move he made, but in the opposite direction.
Harrison was on Manchester City’s books for more than three years after swapping New York City for Pep Guardiola’s side in January 2018. However, the left-footer never made a single appearance for the Premier League champions.

Instead, he spent the 18-19, 19-20 and 20-21 seasons on loan at Leeds before a move to Elland Road was made permanent in the summer of 2021. Phillips has been a regular alongside Harrison since the winger joined.
Now, Phillips has joined City – ending his time at Leeds, which has been up until this point, his entire life. Harrison responded to the news that Phillips has left Leeds to join his old side, saying “no one deserve it more than you”.

Harrison has responded: Phillips has completed Manchester City move
It is a superb move for Phillips. He goes from a side that narrowly got themselves out of a relegation scrap, to joining a side that with the signing of Erling Haaland, have got to be favourites for the Premier League and Champions League.
For Leeds, it sees them lose an integral part of their core – but one they will have been expecting. Tyler Adams is now set to join the club. They could strengthen in midfield even further, with Mo Camara another target.
With Leeds raking in an initial £42million, they could use the cash to sign a replacement for Raphinha as well as Phillips. The Whites hoping to secure deals for Adams and Luis Sinisterra for a combined £40million this week.
