England avoided a scare against DR Congo to advance into the last 16 of the World Cup – where Mexico await at the iconic Estadio Azteca.
A brace from Harry Kane cancelled out a strike by Brian Cipenga and saw England record a 2-1 win in the Round of 16 clash, although fans of the Three Lions face exhaustion on Monday with the encounter against Mexico kicking off at 1am.
The scheduling has led many to ask whether the UK Government will grant a bank holiday on Monday to make it easier for the nation to tune in – although Sir Keir Starmer has already ruled out the prospect of that happening.
Keir Starmer is confident about England's World Cup chances now…are you?
England will not get a bank holiday on Monday
Starmer has strangely opted against the chance to bow out of his role as Prime Minister on a high by denying the nation a bank holiday on Monday.
The Telegraph have already reported that Downing Street are not planning to give the country a day off, meaning the nation is going to have to find a way to juggle a late night with an early start for work on Monday.

The Round of 16 clash against Mexico could actually last over two hours should the scoreline be level after 120 minutes of normal time and extra time, so even a 3am bedtime on Monday might be ambitious.
Having just been ousted from No 10 – Andy Burnham is expected to replace him – you would think Starmer would grab this final chance to receive a bit of public acclaim with both hands.
Unfortunately, the 63-year-old is not on the same page as millions of football fans across the country.
Monday 15th June was announced as a bank holiday for Scotland after First Minister John Swinney proposed the idea to His Majesty King Charles, due to the fact the Tartan Army faced Haiti at 2am in their first match of the World Cup.

That game in Group C even took place on Sunday morning rather than the Monday morning, so it was not as close to the working day as England’s clash against Mexico will be.
Therefore, it seems a bit unfair that England will not be receiving a bank holiday this coming Monday.
