The former Manchester United boss is expected to take the reins at West Ham United.

David Moyes, Manager of Sunderland looks on during the Premier League match between Sunderland and Swansea City at Stadium of Light on May 13, 2017 in Sunderland, England.

David Moyes is set to be named West Ham United manager on Tuesday, according to Sky Sports.

Prior reports tipped trusted Moyes aides Alan Irvine [Times] and Philip Neville [Sun] to follow the Scot to the London Stadium, and it would be some surprise if there is no reunion with someone from his time at Everton, Manchester United, Real Sociedad and Sunderland.

Of the 13 players Moyes brought to Sunderland last season, as many as eight had played for him at either Everton or Manchester United.

But there is one he couldn’t quite get his hands on, who, money permitting, might well be top of his list of West Ham targets come January.

Moyes signed Marouane Fellaini for both Everton and Manchester United – paying close to £40 million in total [Transfermarkt] – and will be delighted to know the Belgian midfielder is in the final year of his contract at Old Trafford.

Fellaini – who was linked with a move to West Ham in January 2017 [London Evening Standard] – has proved himself a useful member of Jose Mourinho’s team this season, although reports he was about to sign a new deal have so far come to nothing.

And assuming that remains the case, United and Fellaini should expect at least a phonecall from their former boss at West Ham.

Whether they oblige, however, is a different matter entirely.
