Speaking on the Seaman Says Podcast, David Seaman has been speaking about Harry Kane and his failed move to Manchester City in the summer.

It’s no secret that Kane almost joined the Premier League champions in the last transfer window. He was reportedly very keen to leave north London and City were amongst the most interested parties.

Pep Guardiola’s side made a bid as high as £100m, but after a poor start to the season for Kane, Seaman believes that he could be available for a cut-price fee now.

What’s been said about Kane?

Seaman discussed Kane’s situation.

“Not getting Kane when they did may have done City a favour because Bernardo Silva was touted as collateral that they could have gotten rid of, and he’s cemented himself now saying ‘look, sell someone else, because you need me’,” Seaman’s co-host said.

“I know what you mean, but they’ve probably done themselves a favour now, because Kane will be cheaper, he’s scored what? Just one goal this season so far?” Seaman said.

Would they want him?

Seaman may be right about Kane. After all, he’s out of form, six months older and six months closer to the end of his contract.

However, would City even want Kane at this point?

They’re top of the league without a recognised centre-forward in their squad, and if they want to sign a new striker, they may be better off waiting until the summer until a certain Norwegian’s release clause comes into effect.

Kane’s chance of moving to Manchester may have come and gone.
