Tottenham have reached an agreement with FC Metz for the signing of 18-year-old midfielder Pape Sarr.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Spurs are set to complete a €15m (£12.8m) deal with the Ligue 1 side for the Senegalese midfielder. However, Sarr could return to Metz on loan for the season.
The teenager is one of the most exciting prospects in France after establishing himself as a first-team player for Les Grenats last campaign. Sarr has 28 games in total for Metz.
The youngster was chased by the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal. However, it is Tottenham who have won the race for Sarr, who is set to officially join the club in 2022.
Indeed, Spurs have gone big on signing young players this window, with Bryan Gil and Cristian Romero joining the club for big fees under Nuno Espirito Santo.
However, some Tottenham fans on social media are fuming that Sarr won’t join up with the team until next summer. Some supporters believe that the teenager is ready for the step up to the Premier League this season.

Here’s what some Tottenham fans had to say about Sarr potentially joining Metz on loan for the season on Twitter…
