Kevin Campbell has told the Highbury Squad Podcast that he would be happy to see Arsenal sign Neto from Barcelona.
Arsenal are in the hunt for a shot-stopper this summer and it seems as though they have their sights set on Aaron Ramsdale.
But just like last summer, another name that has cropped up once again has been Barcelona’s back-up, Neto.
Given the Spanish club’s financial troubles, Campbell thinks Arsenal can take advantage of that, as he explained why Neto would be a good addition.
“Mikel Arteta obviously knows the football club (Barcelona),” said Campbell. “He knows the players.
“They have to move and shake players out of that football club and get them off the wage bill. They are struggling financially.
“So, it’s an opportunity to pick their bones a little bit. Neto is a competent keeper and a decent back-up.
“I have seen him play. He is a decent keeper. And he’s number two to Ter Stegen. To bring him in and challenge, why not? He is good with his feet. He can play. Why not?”

If Arsenal are going for a number two then signing a cheap, perhaps older, back-up option would be the wisest move.
And given Neto, 32, fits that bill then he would tick the box.
But it does seem as though the Gunners need a number one and someone to push Bernd Leno for a starting birth.
So, from that aspect, signing Neto should be on the table, but not at the forefront.
