Morgan Rogers is still reportedly of interest to Chelsea, despite previous suggestions that their attention had shifted elsewhere.
Back in December, talk of a move cooled off after the midfielder signed a new deal with Aston Villa, and it was said he was no longer on Chelsea’s radar.
But Fabrizio Romano has since stated that the club are still keeping tabs on Rogers.
More recently, there has been another update from a different journalist that could encourage those hoping to see him at Stamford Bridge next season.
Morgan Rogers’ contract may have release clause in it

Speaking on Si Phillips Talks Chelsea, Simon Phillips has mentioned hearing from sources that there could be a release clause in Rogers’ current contract, which he signed in November.
It is a deal that keeps him at Villa Park until 2031, quite a long stretch. To get the England international to sign on, Villa may have included a release clause or worked out some sort of gentleman’s agreement.
Looking at Chelsea’s current squad, Rogers would fill several needs. The left-wing spot has not been locked down by anyone yet and Liam Rosenior could use another option behind the striker to give Cole Palmer more support.
Chelsea are also believed to be interested in Kenan Yildiz, who can also slot into similar roles.
If Chelsea end up bringing in either player this summer, it is likely to go down well with supporters.
How Morgan Rogers has fared in the Premier League this season
Rogers started the season a bit slow, but the England international has really found his form again for Villa.
He has made 25 appearances in the league, scoring eight goals and setting up five more.
According to FotMob, Rogers has also created 31 chances and 10 big opportunities. He looks like a well-rounded No.10, and if Chelsea can bring him in this summer, he could be a real boost for their squad.
