Leeds United may want to act due to the Premier League interest in Naby Keita, with Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and Arsenal all interested.

While Leeds fans may feel that the Premier League pursuit of RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita has little impact on them, the Whites should perhaps be concerned about who they may target if the 22-year-old does move on this summer.

According to the Daily Mirror, Tottenham are one of a number of European sides chasing the hugely exciting youngster, while talkSPORT suggested that Arsenal and Liverpool are also keen on Keita, who could cost £26 million.

Keita has been exceptional in the middle of the park for Leipzig who have surprised everyone with their brilliant season in the German top flight, and replacing him will be an extremely difficult task.

One player who has been linked with Leipzig is Leeds prospect Ronaldo Vieira, with HITC Sport reporting in December that the 18-year-old is on their radar, and it would arguably not be a surprise if they revived their interest if Keita was to move on.

Vieira’s rapid progress has arguably been one of the main positives to come out of a tremendous season for the Yorkshire side, with the academy graduate showing on a number of occasions that he is already capable of controlling games and driving Garry Monk’s men towards victory.

If Leeds are not promoted this summer, it would not be out of the question to suggest that they may have to field several offers for the prospect, and perhaps Leipzig may be one of the clubs to make a move, especially if Keita moves on.

Though it is unclear whether Vieira would have any interest in joining the German club, or in leaving altogether for that matter, Leeds may want to act and try an extend his deal – which expires in 2019 (via transfermarkt) – further as keeping Vieira would be a major statement of intent regarding the direction the club is heading in.
