Jordan Spieth has experienced a really poor season on the PGA Tour in 2026.
In fact, it’s fair to say that Spieth has been struggling desperately with his game for a few years now.
The 32-year-old is without a win on the PGA Tour since April 2022 and, as things stand, he seems to be further away from tasting victory than ever before.
Jordan Spieth is still a huge star on the PGA Tour, in spite of his barren run over the past four years.
However, there will come a time when his special exemptions in to the biggest events come to an end. It simply won’t be possible for him to retain his star status if he doesn’t start winning.

Spieth has been testing new putters over the past few months, but he continues to persist with his old blade model.
However, his issues are far more complex than just a few poor days on the greens.
Jordan Spieth must make two changes for the first time ever
Spieth’s putting technique has regressed this season, with his left shoulder getting lower and lower to the ground with every event that passes.
However, the same can be said for his swing, both with his driver and his irons.
The three-time major champion is clearly suffering from a case of paralysis by analysis right now.
He is unquestionably working as hard as ever on his game but perhaps a more simple approach would serve him better.
And a complete fresh start is exactly what he needs right now.
There is a case to be made that Spieth needs to move on from his long-term coach, Cameron McCormick.
Either McCormick is not being honest with Spieth and telling him exactly what he wants to hear or he is not seeing the glaring issues with his swing right now.
The 32-year-old from Dallas, Texas, keeps telling everyone how close he is, but the stats simply don’t back that up.
On the PGA Tour this season, he is ranked 51st in strokes gained off the tee, 79th in strokes gained approach, 57th in strokes gained putting, 65th in strokes gained around the green, 117th in sand saves and 150th in proximity to the hole.
Those numbers tell their own story and if Spieth genuinely has ambitions of returning to the very top of the game, he simply has to go down a new route in the coaching department.

It won’t be easy for him to part ways with McCormick. After all, he has worked with him since he was 12 years old.
However, Spieth has reached a point now where he is pursuing a futile endeavor. It’s time for a big change and, deep down, he surely knows that as well.
Time for Jordan Spieth and Michael Greller to part ways
As is the case in any walk of life, sometimes close relationships go on for longer than they should.
Spieth and Greller are obviously very close friends, but it’s fair to argue that dragging out their player/caddie relationship this long could do them both more harm than good.
An amicable split and a fresh pair of eyes is exactly what Spieth needs right now, in my opinion.
I believe Jordan Spieth is surrounded by too many ‘yes men’. He needs to be told some harsh truths about the state of his game and where he needs to improve.
I’m just not sure that McCormick and Greller are offering that honesty.
Spieth and Greller can still remain friends away from the golf course, if the former world number one handles the split properly.
And the truth of the matter is that if they stay together for another few years, a year or even just a few months, their relationship could be adversely affected anyway.
Jordan Spieth and Michael Greller have always shared a fiery on-course relationship. When he was at his best a decade ago, it was the nature of the dialogue they shared that helped get the best out of him.
However, it seems like Greller has checked out now, and if Spieth is not careful, there will come a time when he does too.
