Tottenham Hotspur announced the appointment of Fabio Paratici on Saturday evening.

After weeks of speculation, Spurs finally confirmed the Italian’s arrival as managing director.

Paratici won 19 trophies in his 11-year spell as Juventus’ sporting director and it’ll be fascinating to see his impact on Tottenham’s recruitment from here on in.

As HITC Sport showed on Sunday, quite a few Lilywhites fans are excited by Paratici’s arrival.

But one man who seems a little less enthused is former Tottenham chairman Alan Sugar.

Here’s how he reacted on Twitter to the appointment last night:

Manager to follow?

Football London reported this past weekend that the North Londoners would also have their new coach in place by early next week.

And as things stand, that man is expected to be former Roma and Shakhtar boss Paulo Fonseca.

Then again, no Tottenham fan would bet the mortgage on it.

That’s because in the two months since chairman Daniel Levy sacked Jose Mourinho, there’s been no shortage of names linked with the role.

It’s true that Fonseca is close, but he’s no closer than Mauricio Pochettino and Antonio Conte were reported to have been in recent weeks and therefore it’s hard to say for certain that it is going to be the Portuguese.
