Well, the Ivory Coast international is undergoing a medical with Chelsea in west London today, on what is his 20th birthday.
It means Liverpool miss out on the precocious wonderkid, after Ivorian news outlet Fratmat claimed that Klopp wanted him to act as an understudy to Darwin Nunez on Merseyside.
Fofana has made a name for himself over in Norway with Molde – Erling Haaland’s old side – scoring 17 goals while also providing six assists in 29 appearances last season.
So far in the 2022/23 campaign, the Chelsea new boy scored two goals in four UEFA Conference League outings, before the Blues came calling.
Fofana began his career with AFAD (Academie de Foot Amadou Diallo de Djékanou) back in the Ivory Coast, before signing a four-year contract with Molde in February 2021 on a free transfer.
Impressively, the prodigy tipped to follow in the footsteps of Didier Drogba at Chelsea scored on his debut in a UEFA Europa League tie against TSG Hoffenheim, which finished 3-3.
Fofana’s rapid progress in Norway has even seen him receive two caps for the Ivory Coast national team.
