Some Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to speculation regarding a double deal for Ibrahima Konate and Ozan Kabak.

Liverpool want to make Kabak’s loan deal from Schalke permanent at the end of the season and also want to sign fellow central defender Konate from RB Leipzig in the summer transfer window, according to The Sunday World.

The defending Premier League champions will have to pay £34 million for Konate and £18 million to secure the services of Kabak, according to the report.

Liverpool have had defensive problems this season, with Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip and Joe Matip all injured.

Nathaniel Phillips has done well at the back alongside Kabak, while Ben Davies, signed from Preston North End in the January transfer window, is nowhere to be seen.

While Liverpool do need to have back-up options to the likes of Van Dijk and Gomez, if they sign Kabak on a permanent deal and also bring in Konate, then they would have too many centre-backs on their books.

Some Liverpool fans are also against the club’s owners, Fenway Sports Group, for trying to get them into the European Super League.

As shown below, while fans are divided over the prospect of making Kabak’s deal permanent, some are wondering if FSG will sell players to fund the double deal.
