Antoine Semenyo has carried his strong pre-season form into the new campaign and is still being monitored by Manchester United.
There’s plenty of work ahead for Manchester United, who went into the international break sitting 10th in the Premier League after seven matches. The win over Sunderland relieved some pressure on Ruben Amorim, who had started to feel it after a slow start.
Ruben Amorim needed that win, too, with growing questions about his tactics. Mason Mount and Benjamin Sesko got on the scoresheet, though United had several missed chances that could have made it more comfortable.

Elsewhere in the league, Bournemouth have been one of the early surprises. Manager Andoni Iraola has caught attention with their strong start and even been mentioned in connection with future vacancies at bigger clubs. The Cherries were fourth heading into the break, which has raised expectations around what they might achieve this season.
Bournemouth’s strong play has been helped by Antoine Semenyo’s excellent form. He already has nine goal involvements from eight matches and was recently named Premier League Player of the Month for September.
Semenyo continued his good run by scoring twice against Fulham before the break, helping Bournemouth to a 3-2 victory at home.
It remains to be seen whether United will renew their interest in Semenyo following summer additions to their attack.
Antoine Semenyo remains On Manchester United’s radar
United made five additions during the summer transfer window, with three of them strengthening their attacking options.
Sesko arrived from RB Leipzig to lead the line, while Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo brought valuable Premier League experience as number 10s.
The decision was made to sign Cunha and Mbeumo over Semenyo at that time. However, given Semenyo’s outstanding form this season, it appears United are still keeping tabs on the Bournemouth forward.

Bournemouth will face a challenge holding on to him, as United aren’t the only club monitoring the Ghanaian international.
According to football reporter Dean Jones, despite signing Cunha and Mbeumo in the summer, United’s interest in Semenyo hasn’t gone away. Tottenham Hotspur and Bayern Munich are also said to be tracking him.
“And I think at the end of this season, Bournemouth can expect to fight once again to hold on to him. Tottenham we know of interest in him,” Jones told the Ranks FC podcast.“Man United, I’m told still have an interest, despite the fact that they’ve signed Cunha and Mbeumo.“I’m told they still do like Semenyo and would consider him going forward. Bayern Munich have also come into the picture here. They’ve been linked and I’m told that is a legitimate link.”
Antoine Semenyo among Premier League’s leading scorers
The 2025/26 season is still in its early stages, but Manchester City’s Erling Haaland is already closing in on double-digit goals.
Semenyo, linked with a move to United, has started well too, picking up six goals and three assists. That puts him second on the list behind Haaland.

Igor Thiago sits fourth after netting two of his four goals against United earlier this campaign.
So far, United don’t have anyone near the top of the scoring charts, though both Benjamin Sesko and Bruno Fernandes have managed two each in the opening weeks.
