Harry Redknapp has recently revealed his confusion over the latest episode surrounding Dele Alli at Spurs.
Speaking to the Athletic, the former Tottenham boss claimed that he is not sure why things have gone so wrong for the 25-year-old midfielder this month. Alli was dropped from the Spurs squad to face Burnley in the League Cup earlier in the week.
The England star has not looked like the player who used to terrorise the Premier League since the golden years of Mauricio Pochettino, who was the one who signed him. Under Jose Mourinho and now Nuno Espirito Santo, Alli has struggled massively for form.
The midfielder started the first six games of the season under the new Tottenham manager. However, Alli was far from impressive for Spurs, and the former MK Dons star has now seemingly lost his place in the squad.
Indeed, with Alli once being seen as a future superstar for both England and Spurs, his decline in form has been sad to watch. And former boss Redknapp is baffled by the midfielder’s regression.
The ex-Portsmouth manager said: “What’s happened to Dele? A boy of his age. Where’s he gone? I thought he was a fantastic talent. Can no one sort him out? Does he need to sort himself out? Can no one get into his head?”
Alli has got to jump ship from Spurs to save career

It’s crazy to think that this is the same Alli who not too long ago was winning back-to-back PFA Young Player of the Year awards and scoring for England in the FIFA World Cup. But under two different Spurs managers, the midfielder has become a shell of a player he once was.
The talent is still there, but for the sake of Alli’s career, the 25-year-old has to depart north London to find his form once more and to remind everyone just how good a player he can be under the right coach and in the correct environment.
