Thomas Tuchel has been keeping a close eye on Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and has already spoken to him about what it will take to break into the England squad.

Though he’s also eligible for Ireland, Dewsbury-Hall has made it clear his sights are set on playing for the Three Lions.

The Everton midfielder has embraced the challenge of forcing his way into a competitive England side, especially with the World Cup just months away.

During a trip to Old Trafford, Tuchel was seen having conversations with Dewsbury-Hall, along with Jack Grealish and James Garner.

Dewsbury-Hall later spoke about what Tuchel had told him during that chat ahead of the final stretch of the season.

“Yeah I have [spoken to him]. He’s told me that I’m in his thoughts which is obviously good,” he said. “But all I can do is keep performing as well as I can for my club and put myself in a position where it becomes hard not to call me up.”

Despite not having yet earned an England cap, Dewsbury-Hall is still open to representing Ireland through family ties. It’ll be interesting to see whether any approach comes from them soon. For now though, he seems focused on making his case for England selection with strong performances at club level.

Tuchel wants Dewsbury-Hall to keep up Everton performances

Despite his strong displays for Everton this season, Dewsbury-Hall hasn’t been in the spotlight much, though Jermaine Beckford has taken notice.

In an interview with the Daily Mail, Dewsbury-Hall explained what Tuchel had told him.

“I’ve spoken to him once or twice. He was at Old Trafford when I scored. He was at Fulham when I scored. So I wouldn’t mind him coming to more games!” said the Everton playmaker.

The move from Chelsea has clearly helped him hit his stride again. While an injury sidelined him for over a month, he still managed to score five goals and set up four more in the Premier League.

Under David Moyes, he’s been showing some of his best form yet and will be a key part of their push for results as they try to hit their targets for this season.
