Aston Villa fans have reacted on Twitter to rumours that they are lining up a second bid for Arsenal’s Emile Smith Rowe.
This rumour has caused a bit of a stir with Arsenal fans because they are baffled as to why Villa want to sign their talented academy star in the first place.
Villa have already made their move when they saw a £25 million bid for Smith Rowe turned down by those in the North London boardroom last week.
And now, the Telegraph claim that Villa will test Arsenal’s resolve again, as they want Smith Rowe part of their front three.
This seemingly isn’t Villa planning to sell Jack Grealish, but wanting Smith Rowe to play in a front three, with Grealish as a 10.
Aston Villa fans have provided a mixed reaction to the news, with some doubting anything will really happen.
From Arsenal’s perspective, there’s no reason why Smith Rowe shouldn’t be part of their long-term plans because he is one of few players who has provided them with hope during this dismal period for the club.
But if Villa put money on the table that’s hard to turn down then it will be interesting to see how they react.
From Villa’s point of view, they are trying to move forward and head back into Europe after a decade of decline, which resulted in them getting relegated after 30 years.
But they are now back on their feet and sticking their chest out in the transfer market.
