What is Enzo Fernandez‘s position?

Quite a few Liverpool and Chelsea supporters might be wondering that around now.

After all, with the Reds and West Londoners linked to record-breaking moves for the player, being curious about Enzo Fernandez position makes a lot of sense.

Earlier in December, it was reported [Bola Na Rede] via HITC Sport that Liverpool were set to break their transfer record on signing the Argentina World Cup winner, who has a £106 million release clause.

And last night, Duncan Castles of The Daily Record reported that Chelsea were set to ‘smash’ their own financial record to make Fernandez their most expensive ever player.

What is Enzo Fernandez’s position?

According to Transfermarkt, the 21-year-old is a central midfielder.

This was the role he played during Argentina’s World Cup campaign and with Liverpool desperately needing to revamp their options in the middle of the park, well you can see the appeal.

Chelsea will also need to bolster their midfield options and you have to say, the Blues might be favourites.

That’s because Liverpool are already dropping a hefty investment on Cody Gakpo ahead of the January transfer window.

And signing both this winter seems quite unlikely for the Anfield outfit, it has to be said.

But this is a cracking young player because, going by Transfermarkt, he can also play in attacking and defensive midfield.

His versatility is bound to attract Jurgen Klopp and Graham Potter and it’ll be interesting to see who wins.
