It was such a tough night for Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday.

Pacos de Ferreira drew first blood in the Europa Conference League qualification tie by beating the North Londoners 1-0 in Portugal.

Nuno Espirito Santo fielded a blend of youth and experience but many of the more senior players let Spurs down in a big way.

In midfield, Harry Winks – who lost possession for the game’s only goal – and Giovanni Lo Celso struggled to impose themselves, while the likes of Ryan Sessegnon failed to have a positive impact.

Here’s how Jamie O’Hara reacted to Winks and Sessegnon’s performance last night:

Half right

The former Tottenham midfielder is half right.

Winks, who turns 26 in February, looks to be clinging on to his Lilywhites career by his finger nails and could yet leave the club before the transfer window shuts.

He was considered a very exciting young player not too long ago, but Mauricio Pochettino’s departure in 2019 has absolutely stifled his progress.

As for Sessegnon, well the former Fulham gem is still only 20 and he could still become a very big player for the club.

Football London reported in July that Nuno – who tried to sign him for Wolves – has exciting things in mind for the young left-back, so writing him off this early is a tad silly.
