Harry Kane sent a clear message to his England teammates following their 2-1 victory over DR Congo at the World Cup.

England were 1-0 down until the 75th minute, when Kane equalised with a header from Anthony Gordon’s cross.

He then scored a screamer from the edge of the box 11 minutes later to send England through to the Round of 16.

The Bayern Munich striker was understandably delighted to have saved the Three Lions from a shocking defeat.

Kane orchestrated a huddle with the England players after the full-time whistle and delivered a passionate speech.

Harry Kane is not only England’s captain, but he is also their best player and the greatest goalscorer in their history.

Given that Jude Bellingham was having an off day, England needed Kane to produce something special against DR Congo.

Fortunately for England, the former Tottenham forward is in the form of his life and would not go down without a fight.

The Three Lions will hope that his match-winning performance inspired some other players to perform better against Mexico.

Kane was already looking ahead to England’s Round of 16 clash just moments after the full-time whistle blew.

He stood in the centre of a huddle formed by the England squad and told them to prepare for another victory this weekend.

“Celebrate this win with the fans and in the changing room, and then we go again in four days,” Kane said, according to BBC Sport.

The England players should enjoy this victory first, but they will need to deliver a stronger performance against Mexico.

Their next opponents have won all four games at the 2026 World Cup without conceding a single goal.

Mexico will also have home advantage at the iconic Estadio Azteca in Mexico City, where they have a superb record.
