Chelsea’s new goalkeeper signing Filip Jorgensen has given his verdict on Robert Sanchez after completing his move to Stamford Bridge.
HITC reported that Chelsea agreed a deal with Villarreal for Filip Jorgensen and the Blues confirmed the deal for the Danish goalkeeper last night.
We had reported back in February that Robert Sanchez would be allowed to leave Chelsea, with a fee in the region of £25 million required for the sale of the Spaniard.
Goalkeepers have been an issue for Chelsea since Thibaut Courtois departed Stamford Bridge for Real Madrid but Jorgensen will be hoping to buck that trend.

Filip Jorgensen full of praise for Robert Sanchez
Unless an interested side stumps up the cash required for Sanchez, the former Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper will be remaining at Stamford Bridge and will fight it out with the Dane for the number one spot.
Speaking to Chelsea’s official website, the Dane has been keen to praise Sanchez which may be an odd strategy considering he will be battling the Spaniard for the starting spot.
“Robert Sanchez has been with the national team of Spain, where I live, and I followed him a bit when he was at Brighton and now Chelsea,” Jorgensen said.
“I know he is a very good goalkeeper and I hope we can learn from each other and produce the best versions of ourselves together.”
Jorgensen was also asked about his Chelsea hero and the Dane said: “I always liked watching Chelsea because I watched a lot of Petr Cech growing up, so Chelsea were one of my favourite teams to follow.”
Jorgensen set to be number one after Maresca’s hint
Spending £20 million on a goalkeeper suggests that the Danish shot-stopper may well be the new number one at Stamford Bridge.
Maresca dropped a hint about Sanchez’s future following a 4-1 defeat to Celtic in pre-season which would suggest the Spaniard’s time in London could well be coming to an end.
“The way we want to play, the goalkeeper is very important – one of the main positions,” Maresca said. “When the transfer window is open, anything can happen.”
