Chelsea are willing to sell Robert Sanchez in the summer transfer window, HITC understands.

Robert Sanchez joined Chelsea from Premier League rivals Brighton and Hove Albion in the summer of 2023. The Blues paid £25 million for the goalkeeper (Sky Sports).

Chelsea willing to sell Robert Sanchez

Sanchez has been the number one goalkeeper for Mauricio Pochettino’s side this season. The 26-year-old Spaniard has made 16 appearances in the Premier League and three appearances in the Carabao Cup for Chelsea, who will take on Liverpool in the EFL Cup final this weekend.

However, Chelsea are unconvinced by Sanchez, who has now recovered from a knee injury that saw him spend time on the sidelines for the past two months. The Blues will look to sell the goalkeeper they signed just last summer.

Chelsea want Aaron Ramsdale

HITC understands that the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners are considering signing Aaron Ramsdale from Arsenal as a potential replacement for Sanchez.

Sources have told us that Ramsdale is ready to leave the Gunners this summer. The England international goalkeeper is behind Spain international goalkeeper David Raya in the pecking order at Arsenal. Manager Mikel Arteta has previously described him as “exceptional”.

Chelsea have been keeping abreast of the keeper market and have also continued to keep tabs on Valencia and Georgia international Giorgi Mamardashvili.

Chelsea fear that Kepa Arrizabalaga is now likely to come back from his loan spell at Real Madrid due to Andriy Lunin’s form. Thibaut Courtois is injured at the moment for Los Blancos.

Kepa has no future at Chelsea, who look to sell him this summer along with Sanchez.

Although the Blues are happy with how Dorde Petrovic has done in goal in the absence of Sanchez, they are not sure whether the 24-year-old Serbia international can become the first-choice goalkeeper in the long term.
