Chelsea are in the market to sign a centre-forward this January and one player who has been offered to them is Cercle Brugge striker Kevin Denkey.
HITC Football understands that Denkey is one of five forwards Mauricio Pochettino has been offered the opportunity to bring in this month.
Chelsea are in desperate need of finding an out-and-out goalscorer in the squad and are pinning their hopes on £52m star Christopher Nkunku.
However, injuries have plagued the start of his career at Stamford Bridge despite the fact he’s been tipped to be a star.
Now, Chelsea are looking for a short-term solution in January which could be Kevin Denkey.
With Armando Broja struggling to score the goals required and linked with a move away, it might not be a bad idea for the Blues to consider an alternative.
Who is Kevin Denkey?
Born in 2000, Denkey is a 23-year-old Togolese international forward who currently plays his football for Belgian Pro League side Cercle Brugge.
He moved to France as a youngster before joining Nimes’s youth academy, making his debut in the Coupe de France before his 16th birthday and his Ligue 2 debut shortly afterwards.
Nimes earned promotion in Ligue 1 and Denkey made 17 appearances during his maiden top-flight campaign.
At the beginning of 2021, Belgian side Cercle Brugge signed Denkey from Nimes and he scored 17 goals in his first two-and-a-half seasons.

However, this year he’s been on fire, finding the back of the net 15 times in his first 19 league appearances, ahead of the likes of Anders Dreyer, Mohamed Amoura and Kasper Dolberg.
Now, Chelsea have been offered the chance to sign Denkey in January on a short-term basis as he eyes the next step in his career.
He has 25 international caps for Togo but would be available immediately this winter due to their inability to qualify for the African Cup of Nations.
