Arsenal signed Jakub Kiwior in a £20m deal from Spezia during the January transfer window, in addition to Leandro Trossard and Jorginho.

The Poland international arrives at the Emirates Stadium with a huge reputation, after making a name for himself as one of the best defenders in Italy.

Before Kiwior has even made his debut for Arsenal, signs of his obvious ability are already on show in north London.

What’s the story?

Well, an update from London World has provided an insight into what the Arsenal players think of Kiwior.

It is said that those at London Colney have been left impressed by the 22-year-old’s start to life at Arsenal, with teammates and coaching staff believed to be dazzled by his efforts.

Kiwior has already broken several records at London Colney, including the fastest short sprint, highest agility jump and standing spring record according to London World.

Given the fact Arsenal have employed some incredibly fast players such as Theo Walcott and Hector Bellerin, it speaks volumes that the Polish wonderkid broke the record for fastest short sprint.

For a defender in a Mikel Arteta side who tend to adopt a high line, that particular trait could turn out to be vital for Kiwior, in regards to his recovery pace and potential to put pressure on the opposition.

Add in the fact Arsenal’s new No.15 boasts a seriously impressive passing range, Arsenal could have a prospect in the mould of a certain Virgil van Dijk on their hands.

Kiwior was a great signing by Arsenal

In our view, people will look back at the £20m signing of Kiwior as a bargain.

Of course, there wasn’t widespread excitement when he arrived purely due to the fact the Pole is a relatively unknown figure in English football.

However, it can sometimes only take a few months for a prospect to explode into life, just like we saw with Mykhaylo Mudryk this season, who himself was valued around £20m just over a year ago.

With Arteta coaching him, we believe Kiwior will grow into a very important player for the Gunners.
