Jose Enrique has claimed on Twitter that Newcastle United are about to secure an ‘incredible’ transfer of Alexander Isak from Real Sociedad.
The former Spanish defender added that he is ‘seriously happy’ for Eddie Howe’s side, who could break their club-record transfer record with his possible capture.
The recently transformed striker turned midfielder Joelinton is Newcastle’s club-record transfer at £40 million, but that could well and truly be smashed if this rumoured £58 million transfer goes through.

The Magpies, who have made an unbeaten start to the new Premier League season, have only added to their defence this summer and are keen to bolster their attack, especially with Callum Wilson suffering a possible worrying injury.
Nonetheless, when Enrique heard about the Isak rumours, the former Newcastle man was pretty happy for those at St James’ Park.
“What an incredible signing for Newcastle,” said Enrique. “Top player. Well done to Newcastle. I am seriously happy for Newcastle.”
NEWCASTLE STICKING THEIR CHESTS OUT
In January, Newcastle spent the money that helped them survive, added with Howe’s ability to improve individual players, such as Joelinton and Jonjo Shelvey.
Bruno Guimaraes and Kieran Tripper were perhaps the standout purchases in the winter, and now it will probably be rising 22-year-old superstar, Isak.
Whilst Isak won’t push ahead of Wilson straight away, what this does do is seriously add depth to Newcastle’s squad, as they push for Europe this season.
With West Ham and Manchester United starting the new season in an indifferent manner, there is no reason why they can’t reach their goals this term, especially if their new signings continue to fit in with such success.
