Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Magalhaes praised Arsenal duo, Gabriel Jesus and William Saliba after their 3-1 win over Tottenham in the north London derby on Saturday..
The legendary striker and the Brazil World Cup hopeful were reacting in the comments section of the duo’s recent Instagram posts.
Gabriel told his fellow centre-back partner on Instagram ‘what a player’ he is, whilst Aguero, who played alongside Jesus at Manchester City, simply called Arsenal’s summer signing as a ‘goalscorer’ in the comments section of Jesus’ Instagram post.
JESUS AND SALIBA FLYING
On paper, Saliba isn’t technically a new signing this summer because he has been on-loan during the past two seasons and he joined three years ago.
But, given that he played no games for the club prior to this season, then he does feel like a new and much-needed face to Mikel Arteta’s squad.
The France international hasn’t disappointed and he could argue that he has been one of the best centre-backs in the Premier League this season.
Saliba showcased that in the north London derby when he dealt with Tottenham’s attacking threat and Harry Kane’s ability to run a game for fun.
As for Jesus, he was a new face this summer and a real coup for Arteta after he brought him from Manchester City.
The 25-year-old has made quite the impact already, scoring five goals and supplying three assists from eight games and helping the Gunners to the top of the Premier League table.
Bigger tests will come down the line, but after criticism following their defeat at Manchester United, they have answered critics by beating their nearest rivals.
